Silverton/Durango Guided Rafting and 4x4 Suburban Package Tours

San Juan Backcountry is now offering a Rafting Trip and a 4x4 Guided Tour, both, on the same day.

If you are starting from Durango, Colorado, the rafting trip would begin in the morning. Your adventure will start at the office of Mountain Waters Rafting located in Albertson's Grocery Store parking lot in Durango. Please be there by 8am. From there you will start your 2 hour raft trip at 8:30am on the famous Animas River.

You will finish rafting at 10:30am, which will give you plenty of time to have lunch, shop and just explore Durango or Silverton.

Travel with your own transportation to Silverton, Colorado, and join San Juan Backcountry for a 2 hour 4x4 tour. Meet at San Juan Backcountry at approximately 1:45pm to begin your trip at 2pm. Our Headquarters is located at 1119 Greene St., Silverton, Colorado.

• Option 1: Ride in our open-top 4x4 Suburban to the famous Ghost Town of Animas Forks. There are approximately 11 buildings still left standing. Along the way you will see waterfalls and historic mines.
• Option 2: Ride in our open-top 4x4 Suburban to Clear Lake, which is approximately 13,000 feet above sea level. This is a popular place for artist' to paint. You will see many mines and waterfalls on this scenic tour.

If you would like to begin your tour in Silverton, Colorado, the 4x4 open-top Suburban Tour will be in the morning. Meet at San Juan Backcountry's Headquarters at approximately 8:45am to begin your 2 hour guided tour from 9am to 11am. Finishing your 4x4 tour at 11am will allow you plenty of time to have lunch, shop or go exploring either in Silverton or Durango.

Mountain Waters Rafting is located in Albertson's parking lot in Durango. Please meet at 1:30pm and from there you will begin your 2 hour raft trip on the famous Animas River. Your rafting trip runs from 2pm to 4pm.

• 2 Hour Raft Trip: Adult $31 - Child $21.
