San Juan Backcountry has been in business for over 20 years. Our guides are experienced and some have actually worked in the mines and have lived in Silverton for many years, so they know the area well.
As your backcountry guides, we know that you will enjoy the spectacular scenery ranging from 9,300′ to 13,000′.
“We took a guided ATV tour with San Juan Backcountry from the folks at the Durango-Silverton Railroad. It was a lot of fun and very scenic. Our guide: Michael Constantine, really wanted to make sure we filled our time and saw as much as possible. He took us to a nifty little slot canyon and waterfall that we never would have seen if it weren’t for his local knowledge. We also appreciated how resourceful he was when one in our group experienced a flat tire.”

“From the reservation process until the end of our trip… San Juan Backcountry was amazing. Alicia at the desk was very helpful and knowledgeable. We did a half day UTV guided tour with Brent. We saw, Como Lake, Hurricane Pass, California Pass, Animas Forks Ghost Town and so much more. Highly recommend San Juan Backcountry!”
