Let our San Juan Backcountry Wranglers and our treasured Horses take you through the Quant little mining town of Silverton Colorado. The history of Silverton is rife with gold rush drama, winter sports legends, and infamous outlaws of the Old West. Dive into Silverton’s history with our experienced wranglers and beautiful horses while they entertain you by unlocking the secrets of the past and discover Silverton’s rich mining district, and historic hidden relics scattered across the town. The slow and steady pace is the Perfect way to see Silverton.
Start the day by enjoying a leisurely breakfast on your own in Durango before you board the D&S Motor Coach at 9:30am bound for Historic Silverton via the Million Dollar Highway. The views are worth a million bucks! Your journey back in time to catch a glimpse of Silverton’s mining history begins the moment you step off the Motor Coach and meet your tour guide from San Juan. Mosey over to the corral where your wrangler and you personal horse chosen just for you will get you all set to head out on your once and a life time wild west Horseback ride. When you dismount your gun slinging partner you will head over to the Bent elbow for a mouth watering lunch. Then weather you choose to ride on the standard coach or upgrade to a more deluxe train car your back down to Durango on the Narrow Gauge Railroad will begin. Train transportation played a major role in the development of the Old West, and when you hop aboard the historic train to explore the region, on a 45-mile journey , back to Durango you will see whats known as one of the most breathtaking rail adventures in the entire country.
- 9:30 – Board the bus bound for Durango
- 10:45 – Arrive in Silverton
- 11:10 – Mosey over to horse corral and hop on the Stars of the Show
- 11:15 to 12:15 – Begin Silverton Historic Horseback ride
- 12:25 to 1:25 – Break for a wonderful mouth watering lunch at the Bent Elbow
- 2:30 to 3:00 – Board your D&S Narrow Gauge railroad bound for Durango
- 6:00 to 6:30 – Arrive back in Durango

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to your reservation time and date or you will forfeit any fees already paid. If you cancel anytime before the 48 hours prior to your reservation, you will be charged a 10% booking fee.
